Do you aspire to be an impactful leader in the fast-growing digital organization in the LEGO group? We are looking for a hands-on competency lead, passionate coach, and creative problem solver to join our Content Platform Technology team.

Core responsibilities

In the Content Platform Technology team, we create, optimize and operate our content pipelines. They are platform services that ensures our many high-quality LEGO® digital assets, for instance videos, images and articles, are brought to millions of kids and families in the world through our apps, games and websites.

You will be the formal leader for 7 skilled backend engineers, coaching and supporting them in their career development. You will also be part of a product team helping to engineer applications. As such, you are expected to be able to do both hand-on coding and people development. Our applications are cloud enabled and mainly built in C#. Phenomenal API’s, asynchronous integrations, and a high focus on automation are key to us. This is also the area we will lean on your technical expertise to lead us going forward.

You will also be part of the leadership team in Consumer Platform Technology to help us execute on the ambition and agenda of being an architecture, engineering and product lead organization.

To sum it up, you are expected to:
-Take part in and help build up a new engineering leadership team!

-Be the proficiency leader for currently 7 software engineers within your area of expertise.

-Work alongside your engineers on a product team

-Enact classical leadership activities to foster a motivated, brave, and curious engineering competency group.

-Champion good development practices through coaching and mentoring

-Hire, onboard great engineers, and support their continued development and skill-building.

-Support “product culture” mentality by matching people and their skills to empowered product teams.

-Help build a structure for and secure execution of communication sharing, communities, and interest groups across departments.

Do you have what it takes?

-A degree in software engineering, computer science, or an IT-focused commercial degree. Alternatively, expertise from a similar position.
-Understanding of agile methodologies and how agile development teams are driven.
-Superb communication, leadership, and mentor skills.
-Can design and drive the implementation of relevant software architecture.
-Can establish and drive the adoption of good development standards & practices.

In addition, experience working as people or team leader in the digital world is a plus. Alternatively, having worked with software product development as a product owner, tech lead, or similar, this could be the first step into a formal people leadership role. It is important that you have an agile product implementation approach to tackle our daily challenges.

On a more technical level we are looking for:
-Experience with at least one modern, object-oriented programming language, like C#.
-Experience working with cloud platforms, preferred in AWS.
-You are not foreign to concepts like continuous delivery, DevOps, serverless architecture, and domain driven design.
