In relation to the Wimbledon tennis tournament, a three foot LEGO model, weighing more than 12 kg, featuring tennis pro Andy Murray was displayed at the entrance to the Wimbledon Park before the tournament began.

The LEGO model was built in six days by Duncan Titmarsh, the only LEGO Certified Professional in the UK, using 13,000 bricks in six different colours.

“Wimbledon is an iconic event in the UK sporting calendar and with the whole country behind our number one hope, LEGO UK wanted to build something to mark the occasion and buoy support for Andy. Perhaps we’ll be able to build a replica trophy to go with it in a couple of weeks,” says Emma Owen, PR & Promotions Manager, LEGO UK.
